Urah Transdermal Pte Ltd is a Singapore Drug Delivery Research and Development Company that has successfully introduced lines of innovative transdermal products into the local and some overseas markets. Its success to date has been attributed to a clear business strategy anchored on research-proven efficacy and customer-focused value delivery, underpinning an open research paradigm of collaborating with university researchers as well as with user-based organizations, namely Nanyang Technological University, A-star Biological Resource Centre, IMRE, Singapore Action Group of Elders (SAGE), Singapore Health Promotion Board and Council for Third Age (C3A). Urah products are backed with technology patents in the US, Japan and Singapore; and supported with published scientific reports in research journals.
KEY FOUNDERS AND PERSONNEL
Dr. Jonathan Obaje (CEO) is the founder and inventor of most of Urah technologies such as the Proprietary Obalin®Transdermal drug delivery System and the Biosurfactant process technology. He hold technology patents in the US, Japan and Singapore, and has many research publications. Dr Obaje has worked in various research positions in Universities and Institutes in Nigeria, England, Malaysia and Singapore. He has received a number of International Academic Awards, among which are the American Oil Chemists’ Society Honoured Student Award (2000) and the Lever Brothers Scholarship Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Research in Surfactants and Detergents (1999). Dr Obaje is a Chartered Scientist & Chartered Chemist (UK) and a professional member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Professor Yasuhiro Sawada is an orthopedic surgeon with many years of clinical and research experiences across international institutions such as the University of Tokyo Teaching Hospital, Columbia University Hospital and the National University of Singapore. He is currently the Director of the Tokyo Rehabilitation Centre, Japan.
Mr. Inderjit Singh is a prominent Singapore entrepreneur who is on the advisory boards of many Singapore Government and private entrepreneurial institutions. He was a Member of Singapore Parliament 1996-2015, and board member of many international Companies.
Mr. Geoffrey Kung brings on board many years of International Business Management experience in IBM, ICL, Honeywell and a host of other start-up companies.
